I grew up surrounded by electronics in my dad’s TV repair store. Spending hours sorting screws and components while watching 70’s sci-fi and cartoons on half assembled TVs. At the dawn of home computing when I was about 8 my dad made his own computer in an old oscilloscope case, it had a hexadecimal keypad, and a line of 7 segment displays for an interface. He would write down machine code in a list have me enter it in, at 6ish years old this was my introduction to programing.
During my adolescent years working in the TV shop, I learned repair and electronics, and fooled around with programming computers. Always excelling at Science, Home-ec, shop, and programing, and al but remedial in every other subject.
I went to Purdue for college I entered the school of humanities and eventually got a BS degree in EET. I have worked as an engineer in the electric motor, and commercial cooking industries developing embedded controls. Then in 2000 I found the toy industry and have been hooked since.
In 2006 I formed G2 Inventions with partner Pete Greenley. I focused on electronics and controls, and he focused on mechanisms. In 2013 with $75 left in the bank we created Zoomer Dog with Spin Master Toys and started a wave of robotic toys we rode until 2019.
All my life I have been driven to create things. I have spent my years perfecting my talents for clever control through programming. I am obsessed with finding the magic that binds electronics and mechanisms to bring things to life. My mission is to make things that captivate the imagination and engage people of all ages, and hopefully make you smile.
